Miss Olivia Biron was born to her loving parents Mario & Jennifer Biron on November 22 2001. As a small infant Olivia was diagnosed with multiple heart defects and was flown from the hospital in Thunder Bay to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Her family felt the emotional and financial strain of being in Toronto as they waited for a new heart for baby Olivia.
The community of Thunder Bay supported Olivia and her family and were very happy to welcome her home once she had received her heart transplant. Olivia thrived, but needed to continue to travel back and forth to Toronto for appointments and tests.
After a few short years on April 3 2004, Miss Olivia Biron became an angel. In her memory our organization, The Friends of Olivia Foundation, was created to help other children and their families who need to travel outside of Thunder Bay for medical tests, appointments, surgeries and treatments.
Olivia's older sister Taylor is the artist behind our logo, depicting "Olivia and her friends".
